Use repeat aerial views to document changes in vegetation and inspect visible conditions around tracks, fences and water infrastructure. Plan comparable surveys so seasonal differences are not mistaken for treatment outcomes.

A working day on a Namibian farm

On a mixed farm, one aircraft does not have to do every job. A spraying platform serves the application operation; a mapping aircraft helps the farmer see variation, document conditions and plan the next field visit. Choose the workflow for each task, then work out how the information and equipment fit together.

Plan the field operation

Identify the crop and blocks to work, the access points and the support vehicle route. Include water, refilling and charging in the day’s plan, especially where fields are far from the farmyard.

Connect observation with action

Use aerial crop imagery to identify areas worth checking on foot. Compare observations with irrigation, soil and crop records before deciding what action is needed.

Keep a useful farm record

Repeat mapping of bush-management blocks and grazing areas can build a visual history. Capture at comparable times and record field observations so the imagery remains useful when planning the next season.
